Employment Program Manager

Seeking a caring and professional individual to manage our York County self-sufficiency and employment programs, which offer supportive programming for families in poverty. This is a full-time, exempt, salaried position, with an annual salary of $46,000 and a generous package of paid time off and other employment benefits. 
Duties include:
  • oversite of job training
  • soft skills instruction 
  • financial literacy and other self-sufficiency training
  •  job coaching and employment support
  •  individual casework, and collaborative interaction with a team of staff, volunteers, and external service providers to support families and community achieve stability
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, social work and interpersonal skills, will possess at least a bachelor’s degree in a human service related field, and have a desire to share the love of Christ by helping our neighbors in times of need. Because we serve a diverse community, we are seeking a culturally competent individual. Language proficiency in Spanish would be a huge asset.

Housing and Homeless Services Coordinator

Seeking a caring and professional individual to manage our Mechanicsburg-based housing and homeless assistance program. This is a full-time, exempt, salaried position, and requires a flexible schedule including some evening and weekend responsibilities. Position is eligible for health and retirement and generous paid time off benefits.
Duties Include:
  • Screening homeless and near homeless individuals and families for emergency housing assistance needs
  • Performing community outreach, homeless prevention, and supporting permanent housing for individuals and families through casework and ongoing engagement
Qualifications:
  • Strong leadership, social work and interpersonal skills
  • Have training and experience in the housing first intervention model, trauma informed care, and strengths-based case management practices
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field
New Hope is open to considering individuals without prior homeless intervention experience who demonstrate commitment and concern for this population. Spanish language proficiency would be a plus! Childcare Provider

The YWCA of Hanover is looking for a fun, energetic preschool teacher to assist in our Early Learning Center, working with ages 3-5. We have a full-time and a part-time position available. Full-time hours will be Monday-Friday from 9:00 am-6:00 pm, and part-time hours will be Monday-Friday from 12:30 pm-6:00 pm.
We offer FREE childcare for staff!
The candidate must be able to plan, implement and organize developmentally appropriate activities for children ages three to five. Observe and assess each student’s growth and development, maintain a positive, healthy, and safe learning environment and promote positive and professional relationships with children and families. Communicate positively with parents and families, follow DHS regulations, and maintain STAR 4 standards.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • CDA or degree in Early Childhood preferred
  • 4 clearances (PA Criminal, Child Abuse, FBI, and NSOR)
  • 2 recommendation letters
  • Physical with TB test
  • 2500 hours of documented experience working with children

School Age Staff

​The YWCA Hanover is looking for Part Time school-age staff for our licensed school-age program. We serve school-age children on site from kindergarten to sixth grade within two local school districts. The hours for this position are Monday – Friday, 6:00 am – 9:00 am and/or 2:00 pm-6:00 pm.
This position is working with school-age students in grades kindergarten thru sixth grade. Additional hours are available as needed when schools are closed or during the summer months. We offer FREE childcare for employees!
The candidate must be able to plan, implement and organize developmentally appropriate activities for children in kindergarten to sixth grade. Assist with school work as needed, observe and assess each student’s growth and development. Maintain a positive, healthy, and safe learning environment. Promote positive and professional relationships with children and families. Positively communicate with parents and families and follow DHS regulations and maintain STAR 4 standards.
Willingness to learn van routes and drive the school-age van is a plus!

Van Driver

The YWCA Hanover is currently looking for van drivers to drive our school-age kids. Vans are 10 passenger vans and are owned by the Hanover YWCA. During the school year, van drivers transport kids in grades kindergarten thru sixth grade to and from school, within three local school districts.
The hours during the school year would be approximately 7:00 am-8:45 am and again after school from approximately 2:00 pm-3:45 pm. Additional hours are available throughout the summer to help drive the summer camp kids to and from field trips.
Qualifications:
  • At least 21 years old
  • Valid PA Driver’s License
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 4 clearances (PA Criminal, Child Abuse, FBI, and NSOR)
  • 2 recommendation letters
  • Physical with TB test
  • 2500 hours documented experience working with children

Summer Camp Counselor

YWCA Hanover is seeking full-time summer camp Unit Leaders & Assistant Unit Leaders.  Duties include planning & implementing age-appropriate activities for students in grades K thru 6.
Activities include but are not limited to sports, games, kayaking, swimming, archery, arts/crafts, music, field trips, waterfront activities, and more.
Must be available May 22-August 18th, 2023, M-F, varying shifts Monday-Friday from 6:00 am-6:00 pm.
Offering very competitive wages for college students, graduating high school students, and adults who enjoy the childcare/recreation field.  Great experience for students.
Qualifications:
  • 2500 hours of previous experience with kids is preferred.
  • High School Diploma/GED,
  • Clearances (PA Criminal, Child Abuse, FBI, and NSOR),
  • 2 recommendation letters & Physical with TB test.
